SANDAKAN: Sabah Wanita Umno Chief Datuk Noraini Idris urges members to concentrate on actions that would help the party grow while continuing to stand up for the people.
She said the State Election which is anticipated to be held in 2025, is less than two years away.
She said women, who serve as the party’s frontline machinery, must always be prepared and not wait until the last minute to coordinate their tasks and machinery.
“The main focus of Wanita Umno now is to help the people and strengthen our movement towards achieving our objective of winning the State Election,” she said after the Kinabatangan Wanita Umno Division’s Jelayah Sabah Wanita Umno at the Umno Office in Kinabatangan, recently.

Noraini, who is also National Wanita Umno Exco member, hopes Wanita Umno’s machinery will adapt to the times rather than clinging to outdated practises that lacks support from the people, particularly the younger generation.
She advised them to be conscious that instead of merely campaigning door-to-door, every piece of information needed to be available at all times.
“At the Sabah Wanita Umno level, we will examine and modify the tasks and steps used to disseminate information about the party via Facebook, Tik Tok and other social media platforms.
“Imagine having more than a million Wanita members who are proficient in social media. I think will have a strong female cyber army or machinery that can conduct the campaign on social media,” she said.
Noraini, who is Penampang Wanita Umno Chief, said that while online campaigns target urban neighbourhoods, house-to-house campaigns are still crucial, particularly in locations without an Internet connection, including villages and rural areas.
She expressed satisfaction with the Wanita Umno machinery preparation but believed there was still room for improvement.
