New Ghana coach Mariano Barreto supports Tariq Lamptey wanting to leave Brighton.
The Ghana fullback is a target for Sporting CP, though Brighton are reluctant to lose him, despite Lamptey's lack of minutes.
Barreto told Rdio Renascena: "The Ghanaian player wants to leave Ghana to go to England, that is the dream. When I see a player, especially young, who is in the Premier League and wants to come to Portugal, I can only understand that it is to have space, to grow in a competitive championship, especially in a team like Sporting and with a coach like Rben Amorim, to then return.
"He is a young player, with talent and technically good for the position.
"He was trained in England and that is an added value, because there are players who come directly from Ghana and have a lot of difficulties in asserting themselves, because the tactical culture is limited."
