  • He replaces Otto Addo, who was sacked 72 days before the tournament following defeats by Austria and Germany last month.
  • Queiroz brings substantial World Cup experience, having previously managed South Africa, Portugal, and Iran.
  • His career also includes two spells as assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United and a brief stint as Real Madrid boss.
  • Queiroz's first match in charge will be Ghana's World Cup opener against Panama on 17 June, followed by a fixture against England six days later.
