NABAWAN: Former Nabawan assemblyman Datuk Ghani Yassin says his long-standing presence in community programmes continues to give him an edge with voters ahead of the 17th Sabah Election.

He said his outreach work did not begin with the campaign period but has been a practice for more than 30 years, even before he became an elected representative.

Ghani said his five-year record as Nabawan’s assemblyman reflects his commitment to solving local issues and maintaining close ties with the community.

He added that he is using the Murut song Kalawon Atulai during the campaign to promote unity and encourage young voters to turn out on polling day.

Young voters in Nabawan, including first-time voters Serleyasmiza Jupanis and Sherly Aryannie, expressed excitement about casting their ballots and urged their peers to take part in shaping the state’s future.
