
LAHAD DATU: A four-year-old girl was rescued from a locked car at Jalan Kastam Lama, here, Wednesday.
District Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Sumsoa Rashid, said his department received a distress call regarding the incident at 3.56pm.
A team of seven Fire and Rescue personnel was dispatched to the scene located about 3km away in a fire engine and Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle.
They arrived at 4.03pm.
Upon arrival, the team found that an Isuzu D-Max had been accidentally locked while parked near a shop, with an unconscious four-year-old girl trapped inside.
“The team broke the car window and immediately rescued the girl.
“She was found safe and was rushed to the hospital in the Fire Department’s EMRS vehicle for further treatment,” he said, adding that the operation concluded at 4.25pm.
