
PETALING JAYA: A 13-year-old girl was raped by a teenage labourer in Kelantan before he later left her near a police station in Terengganu.
Pasir Puteh police chief Zaizul Rizal Zakaria said the suspect had picked up the girl from her house in Besut Terengganu to usher in the new year, Sinar Harian reported.
The couple then travelled to Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, where the suspect brought the girl to a padi field and allegedly raped her.
A police report was lodged the next day, at 6.50am on Jan 2.

He said the suspect was believed to have tried to flee to Kuala Lumpur.
“He will be remanded to assist in the investigation under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape,” Zaizul was quoted as saying.
