PETALING JAYA: A former student of a Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) is seeking legal aid to handle a defamation claim, days after she alleged that one of the teachers is a paedophile.

The girl said she is in search of a lawyer who can provide pro bono services. She said in a posting on X that she had been informed she is being sued for RM3 million in defamation damages.

The girl had alleged that a teacher who is “clearly a paedophile and has been proven to be a paedophile” was still attached to the school in Tumpat.

Kelantan police said yesterday that several witnesses, including a student and teacher, have been called up to help in the investigations.
