Girona coach Michel has told his players not to dwell on last night's defeat to Real Madrid.

Top of the table before the game, Girona were beaten 3-0 at home.

Michel said: "I have told the players that It has to hurt us but it makes sense. It is very difficult for us to win each game, we do things well and we always have to give our best version.

"Against Madrid sometimes it doesn't work for you and we lacked physicality against a team that puts pressure on you very high. They are very good individually and collectively and we must continue working.

"We have done things wrong too. Perhaps putting players without rotations has given us what it has given us. We had to give Madrid less space but I have confidence in my team and we had to go after them.

"After 0-1 we were bad for 15 minutes after a good start, like at the beginning of the second half."

Michel continued: "When Bellingham sunk us he made a brutal pass and that hurt us. If you go after the rival you have to go from 1 to 95 and we haven't been able to.

"Madrid plays all year round every three days and they are prepared for all types of games."

Mchel also analysed Nacho's dismissal for his ugly tackle on Girona attacker Portu.

"Ancelotti himself told us that he did not understand the tackle.

"He has his ankle and hip strapped and an entrance of this style is not understandable. Seeing the minute and the result even less so.

"In the locker room while I was there, Nacho didn't come in, I don't know if he did afterwards. Personally, Ancelotti has apologised to me. It wasn't a normal tackle."
