GISBH’s CEO, son of Al-Arqam founder charged with organised crime

GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISB) CEO Datuk Nasiruddin Mohd Ali, his wife Datin Azura Md Yusof, and son of Al-Arqam founder Ashaari Muhammad, Adib At-Tamimi were among 22 who were charged at the Selayang Sessions Court here with being members of an organised criminal group.

The accused nodded after the charge was read to them before judge Lailatul Zuraida Harron @ Harun.

According to the charge sheet, Nasiruddin is himself accused of being a member of an organised criminal group, Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings at premises at Bandar Country Homes, Rawang, between October 2022 and Sept 11 of this year.

They were charged under Section 130V(1) of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of not less than five years and a maximum of 20 years.

Nasiruddin, clad in a grey jubah and songkok, was the first to be called in court.

No plea was recorded from the 22, as the case is under the jurisdiction of the High Court due to the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma). - October 23, 2024
