Rheinische Post says the Bundesliga club is about to secure Kon until 2026.
Gladbach have an option to extend his deal by one year and will exercise it.
The 22-year-old arrived at Gladbach in the summer of 2021. Kon has scored four goals and two assists in 62 games for the club.
