MANILA, Philippines — Actress Glaiza de Castro announced Saturday that she and her husband, Irish businessman David Rainey, are expecting their first child.
De Castro shared the news on Instagram alongside photos from her maternity shoot, showing her cradling her baby bump in a serene, nature-filled setting.
She captioned the post, “Entering another chapter. So glad I’m through the first trimester because… GRABE PALA. Will share more about this soon! It’s also been so nice and comforting talking to other women about this journey as a first-time mom. I need all the help I can get. Basta masasabi ko lang, ibang klase talaga ang mga nanay.”
The announcement was met with congratulatory messages from fellow celebrities, including Angelica Panganiban, Barbie Forteza, Ria Atayde, Alessandra De Rossi, Mikael and Megan Daez, Mikee Quintos, EA Guzman, Carla Abellana, Shaira Diaz, Rayver Cruz, Winwyn Marquez and Mark Bautista, among many others.
Kokoy de Santos wrote, “Congratulations ulitttt Boss Mama G!!!!! and Boss David!!!”
Ashley Rivera expressed surprise over the news, joking that she had no idea De Castro was already pregnant when they met at an event.
“OMGGGGGG!!!! Congrats!!! Wala akong kamalay malay na buntis ka na pala nung hinaharot kita sa digital walker anniv,” Rivera commented.
Sheena Halili also shared her happiness, writing, “ang saya naman talaga. congratulations!””
Faith De Silva called the pregnancy an answered prayer, commenting, “AHHHHHHHHHH THIS IT!!!!!!!! What an answered prayer!! Thank you Lord.”
De Castro and Rainey tied the knot twice. They first married in an intimate ceremony in Northern Ireland in October 2021, before holding a beachside Filipiniana-themed wedding in Zambales, Philippines, in January 2023.
Her last public appearance was in August at the Philippine premiere of her film “58th” during the 22nd Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival.
