The Glazer family are demanding crazy money to sell Manchester United.

The Daily Star says the Glazers have slapped a massive £9billion price tag on United.

It is an extraordinary number considering the most-expensive sports club purchase ever was when the Denver Broncos were taken over by Walton-Penner Group for around £4.2bn earlier this year.

However, the Glazer family aren't willing to part company with United unless they get such a mammoth offer, while publicly they continue to insist that the club are not for sale. A £9bn sale, more than double the Broncos' purchase price, would make United the most valued sports team in the world.

Currently, the Dallas Cowboys are the most coveted sports club with a value of around £7.2bn. The New England Patriots are valued at around £5.7bn, with the New York Yankees baseball franchise are valued at £5.3bn.

The most expensive football team is currently Real Madrid, valued at £4.6bn. La Liga rivals Barcelona are second on the list at a mere £4.5bn, with United third (£4.1bn), Liverpool fourth (£4bn), and Bundesliga side Bayern Munich completing the top-five (£3.9bn).
