KOTA BELUD: State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew credited the State Government led by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor for the realisation of the prestigious Declaration of Kinabalu Geopark as the Kinabalu Unesco Global Geopark.
She said after going through various challenges in the past seven years, the Kinabalu Geopark initiative has finally yielded positive results.
“Kota Belud, Kota Marudu and Ranau are the three districts that form the Kinabalu Unesco Global Geopark site. The geopark concept incorporates the three elements of tourism, culture and environment, which are inter-related and must be given a new lease of life in the districts.
