I am humbled to receive a personal letter from Peter Cheese, Chartered Fellow and Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), enclosing a certificate to recognise the extraordinary milestone of my contribution being an ambassador for the people profession. The valued certificate dated 08 April 2024 jointly signed by CIPD President, Baroness Ruby McGregor-Smith CBE and Director of Legal and Governance and CIPD Secretary, Angela Attah, who is also a Chartered Fellow.

This is an mazing achievement for me as human resources (HR) and learning & development (L&D) professional, coach and educator. CIPD is incorporated by the Royal Charter & registered as a charity in England and Wales and Scotland and Ireland, championing better work and working lives of people as a growing communities for more than 110 years.

I was admitted as a CIPD member in the early 1990s when serving the national oil & gas company as HR Manager. The CIPD worldwide community has over 160,000 members.

CEO Peter Cheese said, “As your professional body, the CIPD will keep working to give a voice and position to the profession, as well as supporting learning & work communities, building capabilities for the future & supporting career growth. Part of giving a voice to the profession is engaging in and seeking to positively influence public & industry policies.”

In my conversations with young employees, I found the new generation are looking for inspiration, innovation and leadership in companies. HR has to tackle this challenge as HR matters need to be clear in a productive company environment where employees working in and outside the company. Digital transformation is overtaking thinking. New skills are needed to collaborate virtually on how to manage team. New department names like People & Organisation, People & Culture and Human Relations are making their appearance.
