GMA Network brought home two Bronze Medals and seven Finalist Certificates for the Philippines at the 2026 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards, led by GMA Public Affairs’ documentary work.
Winning its first international award was “Broken Roads, Broken Promises,” which received a Bronze Medal in the Documentary: Human Concerns category. Hosted by Dingdong Dantes, the special examined the human cost of corruption in flood control projects across the country and the lives affected by unfinished promises.
“The Atom Araullo Specials” also earned a Bronze Medal for “Golden Tree” in the Environment & Ecology category. The episode investigated the illegal trade of agarwood or lapnisan, one of the world’s most valuable natural raw materials.
GMA Public Affairs also received finalist honors for “Baby Makers,” “Stolen Coastline,” “Unbound,” “Asia’s Scam Cities,” “Embalmer on Wheels” and “Garbage Drivers.”
Completing the network’s citations was “Green Bones,” produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs with Brightburn Entertainment. The Zig Dulay film, starring Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid and written by National Artist Ricky Lee and Angeli Atienza, was named a finalist in the Films: Feature Films category, adding a scripted title to GMA’s documentary-led showing at one of the industry’s long-running international competitions worldwide.
