
TAMBUNAN: Gabungan Mukim Monsorulung FC (GMM FC) emerged champions in the Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Jeffrey G Kitingan Cup football tournament after defeating Tikolod FC 4-2 in the final match held at the Tambunan Sports Complex on Jan 18.
The team took home cash prize of RM10,888, trophy and medals while Tikolod FC as runners-up received cash prize of RM5,888, trophy and medals. Both teams are from Mukim Monsorulung.
In the third and fourth place decider, Tambunan Royal FC from Mukim Lintuhun defeated Gabungan Mukim Patau FT from Mukim Patau 4-5 through penalty kicks after the two teams drew 1-1 after full-time. Gabungan Mukim Patau FT were champions in 2021 and 2022.
Tambunan Royal FC received cash prize of RM3,888, trophy and medals while Gabungan Mukim Patau FT received cash prize of RM1,888, trophy and medals.

The closing ceremony and prize presentation was officiated by Deputy Chief Minister cum Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey G Kitingan who is also Tambunan Assemblyman and Keningau Member of Parliament.
