Not all employers scan through your degree certificates but one fact remains – education, be it outside or inside the school is important. Skipping high school and venturing into the working society without at least finishing SPM is one bold, dangerous move.

Malaysian TikToker, Imran Bard took to his TikTok @iimeringue and shared his take on the recent hoo-ha about SPM having no values in life. In case you missed it, a couple of influencers and YouTubers recently said that going to school is purely a waste of time, as well as having no value from sitting for the SPM examination.

One can only imagine how tough your life is bound to be in the future without even completing your high school. In response to these claims, Imran said you shouldn’t have these mindsets, especially if you’re poor.

“No such thing as going to school is a waste of time. No. Go to school.”

Imran added that unless your family is rich, then maybe you can still survive without going to school.

“If your family is rich, you can opt for homeschooling. Your parents can take care of you financially, and you can inherit their wealth and possibly have a bright future,” he explained.

Imran then reminded everyone to “go to school”, and highlighted that you still need to finish your SPM to make it as a convenience store worker.

“If you don’t even have an SPM certificate, you’re no different than a Rohingya,” Imran boldly stated.

Earlier, influencer A’sad Motawh in a podcast, said that he realised whatever he had learned in school brought him nothing in life, especially in terms of what he’s doing for a living now. Another YouTuber claimed that the SPM examination brings no value to his life.

To those who are still studying, we hope you take serious consideration of some of the things you may have heard on social media, especially concerning your future without furthering your studies.
