One of Sarawak’s most recognisable fundraising and awareness movements, GoBald, will return as part of Move For Gold 2026 this July.
Happening from 3rd to 5th July 2026 at Pullman Kuching and The Hills, Move For Gold 2026 is a three-day fitness, wellness and community fundraising event organised by DefyLAB in support of Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS).
GoBald is SCCS’ signature campaign that invites members of the public to shave their heads in solidarity with children undergoing cancer treatment. More than a symbolic act, it is a visible show of support for children and families affected by childhood cancer, while helping to raise awareness and funds for SCCS.

As part of Move For Gold 2026, members of the public will have the opportunity to participate in GoBald on-site. Pre-registration is encouraged so the organisers can better manage the flow of participants, although walk-in participation may be available depending on the turnout during the event weekend.
The inclusion of GoBald adds a powerful human-interest element to Move For Gold 2026. While the event will feature many active and family-friendly experiences, GoBald reminds the community of the heart behind the campaign: standing with children who are facing one of life’s toughest battles.
Visitors can also support SCCS through the wider Move For Gold coupon booklet system. Each Move For Gold coupon booklet is priced at RM100, and the coupons can be used across participating activities during the event weekend. Proceeds will benefit SCCS.
Those who are not ready to shave their heads or participate in activities can still contribute through on-ground donations to SCCS representatives or through online donations via the SCCS website.
Move For Gold 2026 encourages everyone to show support in their own way. For some, that may mean joining a fitness challenge. For others, it may mean donating, cheering, volunteering, or taking the brave step to GoBald.
