- Gogglebox star Shaun Malone has disclosed that he recently underwent brain surgery and is currently recovering in hospital.
- Malone shared an image on Instagram on Thursday showing several stitches on his head, commenting that being in hospital during a heatwave for brain surgery was 'deffo not the highlight of my year'.
- This recent procedure follows a severe health incident in 2010 when Malone suffered brain damage after a sinusitis infection spread to his brain, leading to a coma.
- Doctors had given him less than a 10 per cent chance of survival at the time, and upon waking, he was left with lasting brain damage affecting his memory and mobility, akin to a stroke.
- Despite these health challenges, Shaun Malone has been a prominent figure on Channel 4's Gogglebox since 2014, appearing alongside his mum, dad, brother and sister, making them one of the show's longest-running families.
