Papu Gomez was in attendance as Monza defeated Sassuolo last night.
The Atalanta great signed for Monza last week after coming off contract at Sevilla.
He said at the final whistle: "I'm happy, Monza and (coach Raffaele) Palladino are ambitious, we're trying to play good football. Today's victory must give us a boost because we need to get another 3 points before the break.
"I have to train, I miss the pitch a bit, but after the break I'll be ready. The impression is very good, I know the championship and the country very well, I feel at home here. I'm very happy to be back."
