- Both Mortimer and Whitehouse paid heartfelt tributes to Ted, describing him as a "greatest little chum" and "a species all of his own".
- Ted belonged to the show's executive producer, Lisa Clark, who rescued him from a dog's home in Surrey when he was six months old.
- He will make his final appearance in the upcoming series of Gone Fishing, having been a scene-stealing star since his debut in series three.
