  • Ted, the beloved dog from the BBC show Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing, has passed away at the age of 15.
  • The Patterdale Terrier mix had been a fixture on the fishing programme for six years, accompanying hosts Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse.
  • Both Mortimer and Whitehouse paid heartfelt tributes to Ted, describing him as a "greatest little chum" and "a species all of his own".
  • Ted belonged to the show's executive producer, Lisa Clark, who rescued him from a dog's home in Surrey when he was six months old.
  • He will make his final appearance in the upcoming series of Gone Fishing, having been a scene-stealing star since his debut in series three.
