Everybody knows Chromebooks – They are powered by ChromeOS, hence the name “Chromebook”. But today, we have the new Googlebooks, with both Google and Qualcomm standing at the forefront pushing these new devices powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite platform and designed around Google’s Gemini Intelligence experience.
The collaboration combines Snapdragon X Elite’s performance, power efficiency and AI capabilities with Google’s ecosystem of Android devices and services. The goal is to make the laptop feel more connected to smartphones and tablets, particularly for users already using Snapdragon-powered Android devices.
Aside from direct native support for Android apps, one can also find things like Cast my Apps, Magic Pointer, Rambler, and more to enable faster and more streamlined info display and feature access without constant switching between devices.
Dell and HP are the first PC makers bringing Snapdragon X Elite-powered Googlebooks to market, with the latter announcing the HP Googlebook 14 as one of the first announced models.
The first Googlebooks from Dell and HP are now available for pre-order, with broader availability expected as the new laptop category rolls out.
