Google has officially rolled out a major update for Google Finance, bringing its revamped experience out of beta with several new features aimed at helping users better track their investments.

One of the biggest additions is portfolio tracking, which is now available globally. Users can view all of their investments in a single dashboard that displays portfolio performance, asset allocation and other insights. Existing Google Finance portfolios will be migrated automatically, while new portfolios can be created by uploading files such as CSVs or PDFs, importing screenshots or simply describing investment holdings using natural language.

On top of that, Google has also integrated its AI-powered research tool into the portfolio experience. Users can ask questions about their investments, such as identifying underrepresented sectors or understanding how their fixed-income allocation affects long-term growth.

Another new feature is AI-generated market briefings. Users can create custom recurring updates by describing the type of market analysis they want, such as a daily pre-market summary covering overnight movements in major cryptocurrencies. The briefings can also be personalised using your own watchlist or investment portfolio.

These updates are generated automatically in the background and delivered according to the user’s preferred schedule. Notifications are sent through the Google app on Android and iOS, while the same updates can also be accessed and managed through the Google Finance web interface.

Google is also introducing a dedicated Google Finance app for Android. The app provides quick access to watchlists, real-time market data, financial news, the AI research tool and an AI-generated ‘Key Moments’ that explain significant stock price movements.
