Gov’t To Impose Cashless System At Public Hospitals, M’sians Are Worried

According to a health circular dated back in June 22, Health Ministry facilities like clinics and hospitals will only accept cashless payments with debit cards, credit cards and e-wallets starting from Oct 1.

A customer is only allowed to pay in cash if they do not have access to cashless payment or does not have a bank account.

Health Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Harjeet Singh said that “by the end of the year, the ministry expects 95% of transactions at its clinics and hospitals to be cashless.”
