On July 23, 2025, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that all Malaysians aged 18 and above will receive RM100 one-off Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA), credited directly to their MyKad.

This initiative is part of the government’s effort to ease financial burdens and help with basic living costs. The aid is meant to be used for essential purchases, and the unused balance will carry forward each month — up until December 31, 2025. After that, any leftover amount will be returned to the government for future welfare programs.

🧾 What Do You Need to Do?

The best part? Nothing at all.

You don’t need to:

  • Sign up online
  • Download any app
  • Submit any personal details

According to the Ministry of Finance, the RM100 credit will be tied directly to your IC (MyKad). All you have to do is walk into a SARA-participating store, shop for daily necessities, and the amount will be automatically deducted at checkout.

No forms. No agents. No third-party apps.

⚠️ Watch Out for Scams

The Ministry has issued a strong reminder: There are no agents or registrations involved. If someone asks you to click a link, fill out a form, or send your details — it’s a scam.

If you receive suspicious messages or calls claiming otherwise, do not respond — just block and report them immediately.

🛒 Where Can You Use the RM100?

Starting August 31 until December 31, 2025, the RM100 credit can be used at more than 4,100 participating outlets across the country. These include large supermarkets, grocery stores, and selected mini-markets — ideal for buying items like rice, cooking oil, milk, baby products, and more.

🎈 Why This Aid Matters

In today’s economic climate, this support can go a long way:

  • Students can cover more of their living expenses.
  • Elderly individuals can stretch their fixed income.
  • Families can ease their grocery bills.

And the fact that it’s being distributed automatically, without red tape, adds to the dignity and simplicity of the process.

💬 A Small Amount, A Big Impact

To some, RM100 might not seem like much — but for others, it’s a week of groceries, a tank of fuel, or meals for the kids. That’s no small thing.

So this Merdeka Day, August 31, let’s celebrate not just our independence, but also a government initiative that truly puts people first — no hassle, no hoops, just help.

💡 Just remember: Bring your MyKad to any participating store, shop for what you need, and let the system take care of the rest. No stress. No scams. Just support.
