THE effectiveness of the MADANI Economic Policy and the government’s efforts to address national revenue leakages dominated proceedings in the Dewan Rakyat today.
During the Ministers’ Question Time, Aminolhuda Hassan (PH–Sri Gading) urged the Prime Minister to explain how the government assesses the policy’s effectiveness over an 18- to 24-month period.
He also sought clarification on both current and upcoming initiatives designed to reinforce the implementation of the MADANI Economic Policy to ensure it fully achieves its intended goals.
Datuk Mohd Isam Mohd Isa (BN–Tampin) also directed a question to the Prime Minister, requesting updated figures on seized proceeds and penalties collected by enforcement agencies. He further asked about measures taken to strengthen enforcement efforts and prevent revenue leakages that continue to undermine the national economy.
Separately, Zahir Hassan (PH–Wangsa Maju) highlighted growing concerns over identity-related crimes in his question to the Home Minister. He inquired about the number of arrests and prosecutions linked to identity card misuse, identity theft, and the illegal sale of identification documents. Zahir also pressed for information on strategies to safeguard the data of identity cardholders, as well as details on ongoing enforcement and preventive initiatives to combat such offences.
Following the question-and-answer session, the Dewan Rakyat proceeded with the committee-level debate on the Supply Bill 2026.
The Third Meeting of the Fourth Session of the 15th Parliament will continue for 35 days and is scheduled to conclude on 4 December. - November 11, 2025
