THE Government has announced a three sen reduction in the retail price of RON97 petrol, bringing it down to RM3.18 per litre for the period of 9 to 15 October 2025, in line with recent changes in global oil prices.
“The Government will continue to monitor market developments and adjust the retail price of RON97 based on movements in the global oil market while supporting price stability,” the Ministry of Finance (MoF) said in a statement today.
As part of the current pricing mechanism, the retail prices of petroleum products for the same period are as follows:
“The retail price of unsubsidised RON95 petrol will remain at RM2.60 per litre for October 2025,” the ministry added. The subsidised rate of RON95 under the BUDI95 programme is maintained at RM1.99 per litre.
Diesel prices are also unchanged, with retail prices remaining at RM2.93 per litre in Peninsular Malaysia, and RM2.15 per litre in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding public welfare by closely observing crude oil price movements and taking necessary steps to ensure price stability. - October 8. 2025
