KUALA LUMPUR — The government will discuss a proposal to increase the Budi MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) quota for delivery riders to 250 litres at the National Economic Action Council meeting on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the matter would be carefully reviewed to safeguard the welfare of delivery riders, as the current monthly limit of 200 litres matches normal usage, Bernama reported.
“I will bring (the matter) up for discussion at this Tuesday’s meeting. Because they get 200 litres the same as us, RON95 only 200 litres.
“So I said, I will remind Fahmi (Datuk Fahmi Fadzil), we will find a way at least raise it by 50 litres, (to) 250 litres,” he said during a gathering with the Johor community at the Taman Desa Mutiara People’s Housing Project Open Hall in Tebrau today.
Anwar noted that the suggestion came after he personally met and spoke with delivery riders regarding the current quota.
In a separate announcement, the Prime Minister approved an immediate allocation of RM1 million for urgent repairs at the Taman Desa Mutiara People’s Housing Project following complaints from the residents’ committee.
“I approve RM1 million first… at least for what’s pressing. If anything is broken, doors of such, we will repair them,” he said, adding that non-functioning toilets at Sekolah Bukit Mutiara should also be repaired promptly after being raised by residents during the event.
Anwar highlighted that the government’s ability to provide infrastructure support and maintain RON95 prices at RM1.99 per litre under BUDI95, among the lowest globally, reflects Malaysia’s stability, strong diplomatic relations, and close collaboration between federal and state authorities. – May 17, 2026
