SANDAKAN: The Federal Government needs to urgently recognise the issue of undocumented people as a national security concern and muster the necessary political power to resolve it once and for all, says Sandakan Member of Parliament Vivian Wong.
She said the issue is a complex one because the Federal Government has not shown any consistency in dealing with it for the past 30 years.
“Based on official statistics released by the Department of Statistics Malaysia, for the year 2019, from the gross number translated to the equivalent of 1.13 million people, about one in three people in Sabah is a non-citizen.
