Governor Kavinder Gupta today said that Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat was a visionary initiative aimed at fostering a united, prosperous and harmonious India by promoting cultural understanding and national integration.

Presiding over the Telangana Foundation Day celebrations at Lok Bhavan here, organised under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme, the Governor said the initiative encourages citizens to appreciate the country’s rich diversity while strengthening the spirit of unity.

He said the nationwide programme was envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote cultural integration and strengthen bonds among the states and union territories of India.

Highlighting the significance of such celebrations, Gupta said observing the foundation days of different states provides an opportunity to recognise and honour their cultural heritage, traditions and contributions to nation-building. He added that such events help reinforce the values of brotherhood, patriotism and social harmony.

The Governor said India’s diversity in languages, cultures, customs and traditions was its unique strength and that national identity transcends regional, social and religious differences. He stressed the need to continually promote the values of unity, mutual respect and national pride across society.

He further said the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat inspired citizens to work together towards achieving the country’s collective aspirations and building a strong and inclusive nation.

On the occasion, the Governor honoured members of the Telangana community in recognition of their participation in the celebration. Secretary to the Governor Sandeep Bhardwaj and other dignitaries were also present.
