MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said that the government has allotted P300 million for the repair of Aquino bridge in Tarlac City which collapsed last week amid incessant rain.
The Agana bridge also partially collapsed resulting in the death of two persons.
During his inspection of the bridge on Wednesday, Marcos said that Agana bridge is set to open to pedestrians next week.
“The local government and national government will help to hasten the opening of the bridges. Like I said, they assured me that in two weeks, there will already be light traffic allowed across Agana Bridge,” he said.
He noted, however, that the Aquino bridge will take longer to open due to the extent of the damage.
