PETALING JAYA: The federal government has announced a two-day 50% discount on toll charges in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
In a statement, today, Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the discount will be effective from 12.01am this Friday until 11.59pm the following day.
The discount, he said, would cost the government about RM19.69 million in compensation to the toll concessionaires.
“It will only apply to Class 1 private vehicles and will not apply to tolls at the country’s borders, namely the Sultan Iskandar Building and Tanjung Kupang toll plazas.
“This toll discount is a continuation of festive toll aid given by the government for the four main festive seasons in Peninsular Malaysia from 2023.
“We hope that all highway users would make use of this toll discount and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid traffic congestion during this long holiday,” he added.
