MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Thursday assured the public that the government has enough funds to respond to the economic impact of the war in the Middle East.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the government does not need to borrow from international lending institutions to support its response to the global oil price spike triggered by the war.
"As of now, nothing has been mentioned about that. We spoke with and asked Department of Finance Secretary (Frederick) Go about it. At present, there are no plans," Castro told reporters. "As of now, borrowing has not yet been considered," she added.
