Delhi Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh launches the projects in New Delhi on Sunday.

Delhi Government on Sunday launched development projects worth approximately Rs 10 crore in Pooth Khurd village in the Bawana Assembly constituency under the Delhi Rural Development Board (DRDB) fund, focusing on improving roads, drainage systems and other civic infrastructure in the area.

The projects were inaugurated by Delhi’s Social Welfare, SC/ST/OBC Welfare, Cooperatives and Elections Minister and Bawana MLA, Ravinder Indraj Singh.

According to the government, the works include strengthening village roads, constructing cement concrete pavements, developing RCC drains and undertaking other measures aimed at improving drainage and civic amenities. Officials said the projects are expected to reduce waterlogging, enhance internal connectivity and improve access to public services and commercial areas.

Addressing residents during the launch, Singh said providing modern infrastructure in Delhi’s rural areas remains a key priority for the government. He said the projects in Pooth Khurd had been planned with a long-term vision for the village’s development and were aimed at improving residents’ quality of life.

“Strong roads, an efficient drainage system and better connectivity form the foundation of sustainable rural development,” the minister said.

Highlighting the government’s focus on the Bawana constituency, Singh said development projects worth around Rs 20 crore were launched in Deep Vihar a day earlier, while another Rs 10 crore worth of works have now been initiated in Pooth Khurd.

He said the back-to-back announcements reflected the government’s commitment to strengthening infrastructure in rural areas and ensuring residents benefit from improved civic amenities.

The minister also said the Delhi Rural Development Board was working to upgrade basic infrastructure in villages and colonies across the Bawana Assembly constituency. Additional projects related to sanitation, transportation and civic infrastructure are planned in the coming months, he added.

Officials said the latest projects are expected to improve mobility, ease drainage-related problems and contribute to the broader integration of rural Delhi into the city’s development framework.
