THE Government has officially commenced the disbursement of the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) for All programme, providing a one-off RM100 credit to more than 22 million adult MyKad holders, Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced on Monday during the Prime Minister’s Monthly Assembly.
With a total allocation of RM2.2 billion, the scheme allows households to receive multiple credits based on the number of eligible adults.
For instance, a family comprising a husband, wife, and two adult children aged 18 and above would collectively receive RM400 under the SARA for All initiative, excluding any additional monthly SARA assistance if qualified.
Responding to public feedback, the Madani government has introduced several enhancements to increase purchasing flexibility.
One notable improvement is the inclusion of frozen food in the list of eligible products, expanding the total number of basic goods categories to fifteen. This adjustment has raised the total number of items that can be purchased using SARA credits to 140,000 distinct products.
In alignment with the Prime Minister’s 2026 New Year address, the government aims to expand participation among small retail outlets, targeting 10,000 SARA Merchant Partners by the end of the year.
In addition, the maximum distance to the nearest participating store has been reduced from 10 kilometres to seven kilometres, improving accessibility for recipients.
Recipients can check their credit status and access frequently asked questions via the official SARA portal at [https://sara.gov.my](https://sara.gov.my).
The Ministry of Finance has issued a warning for the public to remain vigilant against fraudulent links and scams, emphasising that the ministry will never request personal information through SMS or WhatsApp, and all updates should be verified via the official portal.
The SARA for All initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to ease the cost-of-living burden for Malaysian households, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to social and economic welfare. - February 9, 2026
