Govt offers Rahmah Rebate incentive to policemen in recognition of their service

IN a gesture of appreciation for the tireless dedication and sacrifices of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has announced a special Rahmah Rebate Incentive for police personnel, coinciding with the 218th Police Day celebrations.

Fahmi acknowledged the immense challenges faced by the PDRM in maintaining peace and order across the nation. Despite these obstacles, he praised the "Sang Saka Biru" team for their unwavering commitment to preserving the country's harmony.

"Despite the hardships, the Royal Malaysia Police continue to stand strong in their mission to protect and serve," Fahmi said. "In celebration of Police Day, we hope the Rahmah Rebate Incentive will bring some relief and joy to our police personnel, especially with Aidilfitri approaching."

The Rahmah Rebate Incentive, introduced in collaboration with telecommunications providers, will benefit over 127,000 PDRM personnel. The incentive offers a one-month rebate on postpaid phone bills, available for the months of April, May, or June, depending on the individual’s billing cycle.

For those with prepaid plans, the incentive provides a one-time top-up of at least RM30. The exact method of distribution for the prepaid top-up will depend on the telecommunications service provider.

To be eligible, PDRM members must ensure their phone numbers are updated with their respective human resources departments by April 10. Those who have not yet done so are urged to complete the update in order to qualify for the rebate.

Fahmi concluded his message by urging the police to continue their work with "justice, dedication, trust, and integrity," recognising that their service is vital for the well-being of the people and the country. – March 25, 2025
