ALL procurement activities involving the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) that are associated with allegations of corruption have been temporarily suspended, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed today.

The prime minister said the government, through the relevant ministries, will undertake a thorough review and reorganisation of all procurement processes to ensure transparency and strict adherence to regulations.

“I am grateful to the Minister of Defence, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, for his very clear statement regarding this matter.

“We will take note and await the report to examine any gaps or weaknesses in the procurement system, so that the process is fully complied with,” he said.

Anwar made the remarks after performing Friday prayers at Masjid Usamah Bin Zaid in Wangsa Maju.

The announcement signals a government-wide effort to tighten oversight over procurement procedures in key national security agencies, highlighting a proactive stance on tackling corruption and reinforcing accountability in defence and police operations. - January 16, 2026
