PETALING JAYA: Malaysians returning to the country will not have to fill up the traveller’s pass feature in the MySejahtera phone application from Monday, says health minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

Khairy said this will make it easier for those returning home as the nation’s public healthcare system was now at a satisfactory level.

In a statement, he said the government plans to abolish the traveller’s pass requirement in stages for those in other categories as well.

This includes social pass holders, foreign students and permanent residents.

For now, the traveller’s pass feature will still be displayed on the MySejahtera app and must be filled by non-Malaysian travellers before they enter the country.

He said this feature allowed the health ministry to keep an eye on potential cases of Covid-19 and other infectious diseases such as monkeypox.
