THE Home Ministry has announced plans to consolidate three existing digital platforms – MyNIISe, MyBorderPass and MyDigitalID – into a single immigration system at the nation’s entry points, with implementation expected in April this year.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the move aims to streamline operations and improve efficiency at all of the country’s borders.

The ministry is conducting daily monitoring to review the transition process ahead of its launch in the second quarter of the year.

“Currently, the Home Ministry has a team that meets every day to monitor the transition process; they will focus on areas where disruptions occur,” he said during a luncheon talk with members of the media today.

Saifuddin said the new system would support some 635 automated gates across entry points nationwide to enhance operational efficiency and passenger comfort.

“We are concentrating efforts to ensure comfort when the implementation begins in the early second quarter, and there will be a staged transition at several entry points. At the moment, we are conducting dry runs,” he said.

Addressing public concerns about data security, Saifuddin assured that the transition would not pose any risk of immigration data leaks or theft.

“The new system also uses facial recognition and iris verification technologies to ensure that individuals using the system are genuine passport holders,” he said, adding that the entire system’s infrastructure and maintenance are developed and managed by the government.

Last week, Immigration Department Director‑General Datuk Zakaria Shaaban clarified that there is no functional overlap in the systems during the transition, with each platform currently serving distinct roles but ultimately consolidating under MyNIISe as the unified digital solution for immigration services. - January 28, 2026
