Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has assured that the families of Malaysian activists and volunteers detained by Israeli forces will continue to receive updates on their release process.

In a Facebook post, he said the government is committed to keeping the families informed of every development.

“The government will ensure that the families of Malaysian activists and volunteers are continuously updated on all information and developments regarding the release process,” he wrote.

Anwar also uploaded a photo of the Malaysian activists and volunteers who joined the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) humanitarian mission to Gaza before they were detained.

The poster shared by Anwar carried a message of encouragement:

Praying that the families of all activists and volunteers are given strength and resilience in facing these challenging times.”

Earlier statement on accountability

Previously, Anwar had pledged on his Facebook page that Malaysia would use all legal and law-based measures to hold the Zionist regime accountable.

“Malaysia will take all legal and law-based measures to hold the Zionist regime accountable.”

He added that Malaysia’s priority is the safety of its people and that the government will not remain silent when their rights and dignity are violated.
