The new service, called Cross-Border SG-JB (Beta), will allow users to book door-to-door rides between Singapore and selected areas in Johor, removing the hassle of switching between buses, taxis, and checkpoints during cross-border travel.

This Cross-Border Taxi Scheme has been jointly announced by the Ministry of Transport of Singapore and the Ministry of Transport of Malaysia, officially begins rolling out starting on 4 May 2026.

Under the pilot programme, passengers will be able to travel from any location in Singapore to following areas in Malaysia within:

  • Johor Bahru
  • Iskandar Puteri
  • Forest City
  • Kulai
  • Senai

Rides details

Users can schedule rides between 12 hours and up to seven days in advance.

The new cross-border service will come with:

  • Fixed upfront pricing
  • 4-seater and 6-seater vehicle options
  • Premium ride selections
  • 24/7 in-app safety features

Fixed points for return pick-ups

While passengers can be dropped off almost anywhere within the approved zones, return pick-ups are still restricted to designated locations set by Singapore and Malaysian authorities.

Malaysia pick-up points include:

  • Mid Valley Southkey
  • Angsana Mall
  • Larkin Sentral

Singapore pick-up points include areas near:

  • VivoCity

To support the new system, both governments will issue 300 cross-border taxi licences per country in 2026.
