KOTA KINABALU: Nominated assemblywoman Grace Lee Li Mei has welcomed the 2026 Sabah Budget as inclusive and people-focused, praising the State Government for strengthening support for education, religious institutions and human capital development.

Speaking during the budget debate on Tuesday, she commended the RM90 million allocation for non-Islamic religious bodies, missionary schools and private schools, describing it as a meaningful recognition of Sabah’s diversity and shared social fabric.

She said the increased funding would ease financial pressures on long-established schools and community institutions, while reinforcing harmony and mutual respect among Sabahans.

Grace also lauded continued investments in scholarships and student assistance, saying they reflect the government’s commitment to nurturing future talent and ensuring no community is left behind under the Sabah Maju Jaya agenda.
