KINABATANGAN: Incumbent Kuamut Assemblyman Datuk Masiung Banah who is facing seven others for the Kuamut seat hopes to continue the work that is pending, particularly development projects currently underway.

“In a democracy, all are confident of winning. I am also confident based on our administrative record and ongoing development projects,” he said.

He hoped young voters would turn out and choose continuity in development and economic stability.

“The youth need to see the continuity of development while GRS has been in government. I am confident they understand this direction,” he said.

On allegations of corruption that being raised by the opposition over a mining scandal, Masiung said is unafraid and has fully entrusted the matter to the authorities.

“We are gentlemen. We cooperated with the MACC and they confirmed that there was nothing. However, I believe the opposition will continue to raise this issue,” he said.

“The people here are wise in distinguishing between slander and the truth,” he said.
