If like every other millennial who grew up during the mid-naughts to 2010s, you too recall having a scene-kid phase typified by punk rock anthems and wildly extended front fringes, we’ve got news for you: Green Day is staging their first-ever concert in KL next year.

As confirmed by concert organisers Live Nation, the legendary American band will be making their official debut on local shores in February 2025 as part of their latest The Saviours Tour dates. Having kicked off late May this year at the Monte do Gozo festival in Spain, the band followed through with stops across several major European capitals including Paris and Milan, before rounding things out at Wembley Stadium in London.

The tour subsequently made its way to North America in late July with their first show in Washington DC, before steadily making the trek across the country. San Diego will close out the American leg of their show at Petco Park on September 28th. At this point, Kuala Lumpur will be the second stop the band will make in Southeast Asia next year.

Happening on February 18th from 8pm onwards, the show will take place at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil. Ticket presales for MasterCard holders will take place on September 24th 2024 at 10am and end on September 26th 2024 at 10pm.

As for Live Nation members, you can expect to nab your presale tickets on September 26th 2024 from 12pm onwards to 11.59pm. Membership is free, so be sure to put your name down ahead of time! General ticket sales will begin on September 27th, 2024 at 11am, with waiting room slots open from 10am onwards. Tickets can be purchased through GoLive Asia’s portal here.

Founded in the city of Berkley in California, Green Day continues to remain one of the most influential punk rock bands in the genre’s history. Adding to that prestige, they are also one of the best-selling musical acts of all time when taking into account their staggering record sales numbering at over 75 million units, in addition to more than 10 billion cumulative digital streams.

With 5 Grammy Awards to their name and being Rock’n Roll Hall of Fame inductees, the berth of Green Day’s influence in the industry is undisputed. While having witnessed a few changes to their lineup over the years, the band’s most recognisable guise comprises lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tré Cool.
