- Seven Afghan refugees have been charged with rape and child sex abuse offenses, accused of being part of a grooming gang in Norwich, Norfolk.
- The charges are the result of a Norfolk Police investigation into group-based child sexual exploitation, with the alleged offenses occurring between August 2023 and May 2025.
- The men appeared before Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Friday and were granted bail until a plea hearing at Norwich Crown Court on June 19.

- The men charged are: Ahmadin Ahmadzai, 20, of Pottergate, Norwich, Jamil Khalili, 20, of High Street, Dumbarton, Scotland, Fazal Auryakhel, 20, of Eleanor Road, Norwich, Qais Kaker, 20, of Black Horse Opening, Norwich, Mohammed Farooq Shinwary, 20, of St Benedicts St, Norwich, Ali Ahamad, 21, of Pelham Rd, Norwich and Sayed Wahid Davodzai, 20, of St Benedicts St, Norwich.
