Parents have a responsibility to care and ensure their kids don’t get themselves into situations that could leave them hurt or endanger their safety.
However, not all parents have fully grasped this concept, with some leaving their children to their own devices at public spaces.
Seen climbing cake display rack
In a viral Threads post that has garnered over 13,000 likes at the time of writing, a woman shared how she encountered a case of poor parenting.
In a series of photos attached with the post, it showed two young children climbing the cake display rack at a popular restaurant chain while another looks on.
However, the exact location wasn’t disclosed.
Speaking to WeirdKaya, the OP said the incident took place at around 9pm on Sunday (Feb 1), where the kids were engaged in their shenanigans for more than half an hour.
“The kids were climbing and playing on the display rack and were basically left to do whatever they wanted. The staff didn’t know what else to do while customers looked on with discomfort and displeasure.
“When a staff member informed the kids’ parents about what was going on, they came over, called the kids very softly, then went back to their seats.”
She added that it didn’t take long for the kids to resume their antics and that the parents didn’t bother to intervene the second time.
Backlash
Unsurprisingly, netizens were equally as critical of the parents’ failure to discipline their misbehaving kids and exposing them to potential danger.

‘Sis, please go to their parents and tell them off nicely. Or else, call the police quietly and take the parents out of the premises. There’s no loss in losing such customers. This is nonsense. What kind of parents are these?!’
