Kota Kinabalu: The Kinabalu Pink Ribbon (KPR) association is seeking funds to own a permanent halfway home for outstation breast cancer patients going for treatment in the city.
Its President Datin Lucilla Pang said KPR is currently using a house lent to them by a developer for a temporary halfway home, which could be taken back from them any time. It has been operating for three years.
The halfway home serves to lighten the financial burden of outstation patients by providing free accommodation while they undergo treatment in the city, who would otherwise bear heavy expenses on top of food and transportation costs.
