PAPAR: The development of Benoni New Township has created about 3,000 job opportunities for the locals, said its developer, WSG Group Managing Director Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen.
She said businesses that are established in Benoni Commercial Centre and Parklane City employ mostly locals.
For instance, she said a newly-opened kopitiam named Dojo Nanyang Kopi House has hired more than 50 Paparians for their outlet, same as another fast-food A&W

Susan said this when met at the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Mini Carnival and Rahmah Madani Sales Programme (PJRM) held at Parklane City, here, last Wednesday.
The programme was officiated by the Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali.
Susan said she felt proud that the Benoni New Township she developed could play host to the carnival and launching of Malaysian film, “Impak Maksima 2”.
“This is the first time that a movie premiere is held right here in Parklane City, Papar,” she said.
With the support from the government, she said her company was able to develop the new township, complete with the modern facilities.
Apart from the fast-food outlets, she said the township also had banks such as Koperasi Co-op bank Pertama Malaysia Berhad (CBP) and soon-to-open, Affin Bank and Maybank.
She added that her company is also constructing Parklane Residences Lifestyles Condominium priced from RM246,000 onwards.
She said the amenities at the township, such as food and beverage (F&B) outlets, reflexology, hairdressing salons and cinema, have attracted tourists to Parklane City, especially Bruneians.
Susan hoped that the government would organise more such events in Parklane City in the future.
On future developments, she added that her company is currently in talks with a higher learning institution to establish a college branch in Parklane City as well and she is looking into a proposal to provide a night market that will help small-time traders here.
She said a new petrol station will be developed, while Parkson has agreed to enter the shopping mall in Parklane City.
Also present were Limbahau Assemblyman Datuk Juil Nuatim and 10Star Cinemas Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer Onn Norshal Hamzah.
