KOTA KINABALU: The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government remains committed to resolving long-standing infrastructure issues in the state, said Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Youth Chief, Datuk Fairuz Renddan.
He emphasized that Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor prioritizes addressing infrastructure problems that have persisted through multiple administrations.
“These issues—water supply, electricity, and roads—are inherited problems. Solving them is not instantaneous, but the GRS-led government has never ignored public concerns,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
Fairuz, who is also Pintasan Assemblyman, criticized certain parties for using infrastructure issues to paint GRS as a failed government, calling it an unfair political maneuver.
"What do they mean by calling the GRS government a failure? Are they acknowledging the reality, or simply pointing fingers?" he questioned.
His remarks came in response to Sabah UMNO Chief and Kinabatangan MP, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, who had accused GRS of failing to address the people’s problems.
Fairuz urged Bung Moktar to refrain from making baseless allegations, especially during Ramadan.
"If you truly want to help the people, let’s work together instead of engaging in unnecessary political drama," he added.
