Kota Kinabalu: Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Information Chief Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan said Parti Warisan’s claim that the ruling Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition will abandon Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, if there is political unrest, is absurd.

He stressed that GRS together with Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) made a joint decision after the 15th General Election (GE15) to support Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the 10th Prime Minister.

Because of that, he said, it is inappropriate for Warisan Information Chief Datuk Azis Jamman to make nonsense and evil claims, even if he wants to be “Nujum Pak Belalang”, by claiming that GRS would be first to leave the PM’s side.

“The fact is that Warisan, including Azis, has the intention of not supporting any party or national leader, and for that reason they cut ties with Pakatan Harapan (PH) led by Anwar and went solo in GE15.

“The reality is that Warisan’s decision to support Anwar and the Unity Government after GE15 was because they had no other choice due to only having three Members of Parliament.

“Supporting or not supporting has no effect on the Unity Government that was formed by PH, BN, GPS and GRS,” said Nizam who is also Apas Assemblyman in a statement.

Nizam said Azis and his party tried to cover up their own mistakes, by pointing at other parties and that Azis’ statements were just illusions and wild assumptions.

“Based on past experience in the Sabah State Government when Warisan led their coalition, I am confident that the PH component parties in Sabah know the attitude and sincerity of Warisan when it comes to cooperation and consensus.

“So that Aziz does not continue to get drunk, because of the actions of his party’s assemblymen who pulled out together with the party’s grassroots leaders, all parties that support the Unity Government and the Prime Minister has long moved on, including GRS leaders.

“Such as proven through the support for any decisions and missions of the Unity Government by the State Government led by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

“Didn’t Azis realise when the Prime Minister came for the Prime Minister’s Mandate for Federal and State civil servants recently, how the state leadership responded to the Prime Minister,” he said.

Nizam said with the support of the Sabah Government, under the leadership of the GRS and Sabah PH, for the Prime Minister and the Unity Government, there would abe no treacherous action, as was done by some state leaders on Jan. 6, which was masterminded by Warisan leaders to topple the State Government and form a backdoor government.

“So don’t assume that other leaders and parties are the same just because your leaders and party have wicked intentions,” he said.
